Install insights: Bay windows
Adding privacy and blackout with curtains and blinds to the bedroom windows in a London terraced house.

Here the client wanted the bedroom to feel calm and considered, so they added linen layers for privacy and natural texture. They chose khaki linen curtain for their deep rich tone and texture, adding warmth without feeling too heavy or formal. Layering them with sheer off-white curtains was intentional, allowing light to filter through softly during the day while still offering privacy and a more enclosed feel in the evening.
Here, we used custom black curtain tracks , custom bends are made by our fitter to follow the shape of the bay window for a seamless, tailored finish. Fixing the tracks to the ceiling draws the eye upward, enhancing the sense of height in the room while also allowing the curtains to sit flush and maximise the blackout effect.
A Roman blind in a soft khaki linen adds another layer of texture and warmth, offering practical light control without interrupting the overall flow. Paired with a café curtain, it introduces a more relaxed, lived in feel while still maintaining privacy at street level.
Together, these layered window treatments bring both function while adding softness to the space, balancing structure with a more considered, atmospheric finish.
