Att home with... Chelsea Stonier
Interior and lifestyle influencer Chelsea Stonier of @housethatblackbuilt welcomes us into her thoughtfully renovated Victorian home. Having followed Chelsea’s interiors journey for many years, it’s been so inspiring to see her vision take shape as she transforms the house she shares with her husband, son and pooch Norman, into a space that feels both timeless yet contemporary.
When Chelsea got in touch to help her with her window treatments we couldn't wait to get started. We discussed various options and settled on adding layers of linen in the sand colour way to compliment her space and decor effortlessly. The Roman blinds in sand linen teamed with our café curtains in sheer linen create a softness to the dining room and help give privacy while not blocking any light.
More sand linen has been added throughout the home in curtains, sheer soft blinds and Roman blinds, adding softness and a final finish touch to each room!
We caught up with Chelsea to find out her house must haves and future interior plans.

What are your top 5 things that you couldn't live without in your home?
- Is it cheesy to say my family (human and furry)? Probably, but it’s true!
- Our Carpe Diem Beds of Sweden bed. I was lucky enough to work with them a few years ago. It’s emperor sized which is huge; a total luxury and has changed our life. It’s so big and so comfy, no hotel can ever compete.
- The TV. I know everyone is always trying to hide it but I just love watching tv shows and films. It’s my favourite way to unwind.
- The boiling water tap. We’re very British and drink a thousand cups of tea a day. I couldn’t go back to a kettle!
- Now it’s getting chilly, I’m fully in love with my cast iron radiators again. They look gorgeous and keep our single-glazed, Victorian house toasty all winter.
Is there a piece in your home that has traveled with you from each place you have lived in? What is it, why do you love it?
Hmm, I don’t think there is anything significant. I’m not particularly sentimental when it comes to material things. We didn’t have much money when we were in our previous homes and our style has definitely evolved a lot over the years. We definitely have some pieces now that we’ll keep forever though!

Anything new you are looking to add to your home currently? Or update?
A new sofa will be our next big purchase. We bought our current one under a hit of pressure as I was very pregnant and we had nowhere to sit. It’s very comfy, which was a priority, but it’s not right for the evolving space in terms of style, colour or size. I find sofas so tricky!
Was there a place or something you saw recently that inspired your home style?
I went to Copenhagen recently and I just adore Danish design. The architecture, the fashion, the furniture - gorgeous! One of my favourite things is high-quality, functional products that are also aesthetically pleasing and I think they nail it in that department. It was a fleeting visit and I only had hand luggage so sadly couldn’t bring anything back with me - maybe for the best!
Where do you find inspiration for your interior style?
Everywhere! I’m constantly inspired wherever I am/whatever I’m doing. Nature, restaurants and hotels, online. I spend a lot of time on socials being a creator and my fellow interiors community on instagram and Pinterest is filled with endless inspiration.
