How to Elevate your Garden Picnic

With the days feeling warmer and evenings staying lighter, we are spending more and more time outside. Picnics are a must during the summer season, and they can be elevated with a few simple tips to make the most of dining alfresco. Here are a few ways to make very picnic feel extra special...

You do not always need a table to dine outside. Set up a picnic blanket in your garden or your local park to make the most of being outside during the summer months. It can be just as glamorous on the ground!  Add a colourful blanket, a few throw pillows and get comfy.

Trays or wooden boards are great to bring to be used as your “table.” These work really well as place holders for plates, food and glassware to avoid things spilling, which is more likely if placed on uneven ground.

Skip the plastic forks and paper plates. Use your own ceramic plates and glassware to enhance the overall feel of your picnic. Wrap delicate items in tea towels to avoid breakage if you walk to a park, the tea towels can then be used as napkins later.

Flowers bring together every dining table, so do not skip out on them when you've moved to the ground! Add a vase with flowers to really complete the overall look and feel of your dining experience.

If it is in the evening, bring some tea light candles in glass votives to add a classy touch to light up your night.

Time to get out there and have your elevated picnic. Enjoy!
